She told me to pay $63 extra on top of rental price that I have already paid to Amex and $2200 deposit for not having the insurance because according to her that this is not a insurance. The girl who was doing paperwork just kept saying things that I would never understand but I can hear the rude tone. Their tone changed and now they started talking in Spanish instead of English and became very rude. A poor business decision, but worse no regard for the customer at all. Budget would have made up the money many times over. We have since rented (numerous times) from Alamo.

We have been renting from Budget for years but our loyalty meant nothing. So we were charged 18 days for a car we had for 2 days, including our customer service fee. I tried to make my case with higher-ups and still got nowhere. I provided receipts from Sixt to prove we had to rent another vehicle. After we returned home we noticed our credit card was charged over $2,000 not only for the remainder of our trip after we abandoned the car but for several days after we returned to the US.Īpparently it took them that long to pick up the car. We finally were able to talk to a human, who said he would contact roadside assistance to have the car picked up. We periodically tried to contact Budget during the rest of our trip to inform them of our abandoned car. We paid for our own taxi ($450) and arrived at the airport to find the Budget office closed. The taxi never arrived and we were unable to reach roadside service again. We again tried to call the Budget office at the airport but again there was no human available.
